Dental FAQs

It is recommended that you visit your Calgary dentist at least twice a year to get a professional cleaning and a thorough examination. Preventive care helps to prevent issues like tooth decay, gum disease and small problems not visible to you. Regular visits help us to catch an issue before it becomes a larger issue.
While the exact link is unclear, studies show that patients with gum disease are almost twice as likely to develop heart disease. Studies also suggest that systemic illnesses are linked to gum disease because bacteria enter the bloodstream through the gums and causes issues throughout the body.
There are many factors that make a tooth sensitive, but it is commonly decay. Small cracks, grinding of the teeth and exposed roots due to gum disease can also cause tooth sensitivity. Desensitizing toothpaste can sometimes help, but if it becomes persistent, please call us to set up an appointment.
We offer several ways to get your teeth whiter. For fast results, an in-office treatment is best, but we can also prepare customized take-home trays. In addition, there are several popular options such as veneers and cosmetic bonding that offer an alternative. Let us know if you are interested or thinking about achieving a brighter smile, and we will happily discuss the options available in detail.
